THE BEACHES

Turkey has over 6000 miles of exquisite coastline stretching from the Aegean to the Eastern Mediterranean. Here the sun always shines and the summer temperature rarely falls below 70 F. Watersports have become increasing popular with many resorts offering everything from sailing to scuba diving. We have selected only the most appealing resorts to appear in our brochure and some of the best beaches are on offer.

THE HISTORY

The only country to be situated on two continents, since ancient times, Turkey has been at the crossroads of the world. Turkey has a very rich and colourful history. Beginning in the Palaeolithic Age, remnants and ancient works have been found dating from 20,000 to 8,000 B.C. Since then, the territory now known as Turkey has been occupied by diverse civilisations that have all left traces of their art and culture. For countless generations, camel caravans trekked from the East towards Istanbul delivering spices and silks for the market places of the west. This meeting of East and West created a unique culture still in evidence today.
