Marmaris

Marmaris
Marmaris is set in large natural harbour on the southeast coast of Turkey where the Aegean and the Mediterranean seas meet. The sweeping bay is home to a long stretch of palm fringed sand and the surrounding seas are popular with expensive yachts, modern motor launches and traditional fishing vessels alike.
The history of the area dates back to 3400 BC when it was invaded from Crete. Today the 16th century grand castle built by the Ottomans still holds a commanding position at the entrance to the harbour.
There are many fascinating places to visit from this area, especially by sea. Boats leave the harbour each day to visit Dalyan, Turtle Beach and the many small bays, secluded coves and uninhabited islands in the area.
The town is full of life offering a wide choice of bars, discos, restaurants and bustles well into the small hours.
