BROCURE DESCRIPTIONS

Every effort is made to provide accurate descriptions of both hotels and local facilities but as our brochure is printed many months in advance of your holiday, it is possible that some aspects may vary. Hotel and resort facilities mentioned in this brochure are described in good faith and are generally available. The descriptions of destinations and accommodation in this brochure have been compiled following inspection by our staff/suppliers. However, changes may occur after the date of publication. There may be occasions particularly in low season when accommodation owners or proprietors of other services may withdraw facilities due to refurbishing, weather conditions or lack of demand or decide to alter breakfast and other meal systems from buffet to waiter service or vice versa. Similarly air conditioning or swimming pools, at the hotelier's discretion, only be available at certain times of the day and/or year. These changes are regrettably beyond our control and we reserve the right to change the particulars in this brochure by means of "Brochure Errata". If you feel that any of the facilities mentioned in our brochure are vital to the enjoyment of your holiday, then you must write to us immediately and we will inform you of the latest known situation.

HOTEL DESCRIPTION AND CLASSIFICATIONS

Hotel descriptions represent an evaluation by Metak, which attempts to reflect the style and atmosphere of the hotel. Since the views expressed are subjective it is appreciated that not everyone will agree with them and they should be read in this light. We cannot undertake to provide the same rooms as may be shown in the brochure. As balconies and terraces vary in size it may or may not contain furniture. In some cases rooms may have restricted sea view due to the specific location of the room within the accommodation and in such cases no refunds will be given for sea view supplement paid to us.

Official classifications are set by the Turkish Ministry of Tourism. Hotel ratings shown in our brochure are guided by the Turkish Ministry of Tourism and North Cyprus Ministry of Tourism classifications and represent our senior management's opinion to help you choose your accommodation.

HOTEL FACILITIES

Some hotels may charge a fee for the services listed in our descriptions including sun loungers and umbrellas by the pool or on the beach. Facilities such as kids club, high chairs, cots, internet, wireless, pay TV, water sports, tennis courts, fitness centres, entertainment, shuttle / courtesy bus etc. are under the control of the hotel management and are subject to availability and charged at the hotel's discretion. In some hotels tea and coffee making facilities provides only kettle and cups and there may be a charge for tea and coffee supplied in your room. Please ask at the hotel reception for applicable charges or facilities prior to use. Please note that satellite TV channels will not be the same as those available in the UK.

RESORTS & OTHER GUESTS

It is possible that there may be local guests and from other countries at your accommodation and consequently facilities and entertainment may vary according to the mix and ages of such groups and accommodation may at times be more lively than usual.

Insects are common in hot climates and are usually harmless and it does not mean that your accommodation is either unhygienic or unclean. Building works and noise are almost unavoidable in developing resorts and are not under our control and we do not receive advance notice of when they will begin. However, where we are aware of any building works which may reasonably be considered to adversely effect the enjoyment of your holiday, we will notify you as soon as possible and if necessary and possible we will offer you alternative accommodation. However, we are under no obligation to do so.

SELF CATERING

Self catering accommodation usually has kitchenettes that are equipped with a fridge, one or two gas or electric rings (hardly ever an oven) and a few utensils. They are only suitable for making tea, coffee, light snacks and continental breakfast. Kettles are not always provided so be prepared to use a pan to boil water. Please also remember that eating out is cheap, easy and convenient.

ESSENTIAL SERVICES

Many hotels now use solar power to heat water and although this is a tremendous advantage, it does not always provide a constant supply of hot water. Electricity supplies can sometimes fail but cuts rarely last for more than a few hours. Due to weather conditions, water shortages do occur in high season but do not tend to last for long in any one area. In such circumstances as described, Metak shall be under no liability for any loss or damage arising there from. Air-conditioning is not always available constantly and is operated at the discretion of the management both in bedrooms and public areas. In such cases it may be restricted to particular times of the day and to the hottest parts of the summer. There are varying degrees of systems used in hotels; some are centrally and the others are individually con-trolled units.

ON ARRIVAL

You will be met at your arrival airport by a Metak or local agents' Representative or Driver who will transfer you to the accommodation you have booked. In some resorts it is possible that you will share the transportation with other tour operators' clients and their representatives. This service applies to all holidays unless advised otherwise.

For clients travelling from the U.K. on overnight flights, your rooms have been booked from the previous night to ensure immediate occupancy. This counts as the first night of your holiday even if your flight is delayed for whatever reason which may mean a delay in your arrival at your holiday accommodation. No refunds are given for unused accommodation as rooms are held for late arrivals. Flight timings may mean a loss of a meal on half or full board and all inclusive holidays. We will not give any refunds for missed meals.

LOCAL SERVICES & CONDITIONS

Our representatives have been chosen for their local knowledge of the area and will provide details of visits to classical sights, local places of interest and boat trips. Any local excursions, entertainment and other services you book and pay locally are not arranged by us; our local reps are only able to act as a booking agent for the organisers. If in any way you are disappointed with them; the matter needs to be dealt with on the spot through the local organisers in the resort. Any problems or claims for refund or compensation needs to be resolved while your holiday is in progress, as such items do not form part of your holiday contract with us. It is possible that you will share optional excursions with other tour operators and nationalities. Please remember that the operation and supervision of overseas transport, property and other services are subject to local laws, regulation standards and codes of practice of the individual country concerned. In other European countries, legal and safety restrictions may vary from the high standards that we are used to in the U.K. Public holidays and religious festivals may also affect the availability of the resort and hotel facilities. The relevant National Tourist Office can provide the details of such events and further information regarding your holiday to Turkey and Northern Cyprus.

Our experience has shown that most Metak clients tend to be more independent and as we do not wish to invade your privacy, our representatives will not visit on a regular basis. Should you need to contact our local office for any reason, we provide all clients with the address and telephone number with your tickets and documentation prior to departure.

CHILD PRICES & REDUCTIONS

A reduction is applicable to children aged between 2 and less than 12 on the return date, providing they share the same room with two adults paying the full price. Please note in some hotels third bed only available as a portable / extra bed in a standard room and the room may be cramped. Children paying child prices do not count as an adult when calculating the occupancy of the accommodation and must pay all applicable supplements. The relevant discount applicable at each hotel is shown at the bottom of each price panel. Children who occupy a separate room on their own will not be entitled to a reduction and no reduction will be given on flight supplements. There is a minimal charge for children under 2 years of age for their flight, but no seat is guaranteed by the airlines. Please note child must be less than 2 years of age on the date of the return flight. The cost of the provision of food and cots is payable directly to the hotel.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

Although we will endeavour to meet special requests this is dependent on our suppliers and we can't guarantee that your requirements will be met. Please inform us of any special requests when you confirm your holiday booking. We can't accept any booking that is conditional upon the special requests being met.

DEPARTURE INFORMATION

You must vacate your room by noon on the last full day of your holiday. You will be advised in advance by our local representative for your transport pick up time to return you to your departure airport. For that reason you may need to check with your hotel reception for any messages left for you during your stay. Because of the strict security prevailing at most airports, our overseas representatives are not always allowed to accompany clients into the airport check-in areas. As when you arrive, in some resorts it may be possible that you share transportation with other tour operators' guests and representatives.

SINGLE TRAVELLERS, UNDER OCCUPANCY AND EXTRA BEDS

A supplement is charged to single travellers due to our contract with the accommodations being based on a price per room while our holidays are sold per person, including flights and other elements. Therefore per person price for a single traveller includes the entire room cost. This also applies to hotels and self-catering units where, for example, three people may want to occupy accommodation usually sold for four and priced accordingly. With regards to a triple room, this is invariably a standard twin or double bedded room with a non permanent extra bed. We do not know which room you will be given as they are allocated at the hotels discretion.
